Understanding Data Loss

There are many users who misunderstand data concept. The users don’t have any consistent information about the data loss. The users are unable to evaluate these situations of the data loss and they are unable to make any decision about the data recovery.
It should be noted that the lost data is actually not lost as it is just inaccessible to the users. The large amount of the data is lost by the users simply because they are not aware of their option of data recovery.
The users can easily recover about 95% of their lost data. It can go to the 100% before commercial utilities are exercised on the drive. The data professional use their techniques and tools to recover data after years of Development and Research.

The data is stored on the hard drive on one or more oxide platters which spin at the rate of 3600-10,000 revolutions per minute holding magnetic charge. The read/write head of the drive moves with the cushion of air, 1-2 micro-inches and it is situated above surface of platters. Data flows to and from these heads via electrical connections. Data can be lost due to any force which alters this process.
The data is stored in smaller spaces of the drive. The data storage capacity of the hard drive has increased from 40 MB to 80GB. The data lost is also increased with the increase of storage capacity.
The drive tolerance is steadily decreasing as part of the advancing technology. Their head of he drive may touch the platter due to slight nudge, power surge or containment and head can be crashed. The data may be permanently lost due to head touch.
The current tolerance drives is 1-2 micro-inches in the hard drive as compared to the  speck of dust is 4-8 micro-inches and human hair 10 micro-inches and data can be lost due to the containment of this size.
There is a bit failure in the data protection by the backup technology. Most of the computer users opt for the data backups and redundant data storage for the safety of data loss. Sometimes this data backup may not work in case of need. The back ups systems is made for the combination of the technology and human intervention for success. The back system is based on the assumption of the time and technical expertise required to perform properly. It is also assumed that the backup software is not corrupted but hardware can fail. The tapes and cartridges may not work always. The users can also give the corrupted or incorrect information. The users should not always rely on the backup systems always.
